Located on the Northshore, Washington Parish is conveniently located to New Orleans, Baton Rouge and the entire Gulf South. Forest products, food processing, healthcare and information technology are the primary industries in Washington Parish.
If recreation is your thing. Washington Parish is your place, Whether it is golfing, hunting, fishing, canoeing, kayaking or tubing, Washington Parish has a lot to offer. Located right outside of Franklinton, Bogue Chitto State Park provides hiking trails, horseback riding and excellent mountain bike trails.
Washington Parish is home to many fairs and festivals as well. Franklinton boasts the country's largest free fair, the Washington Parish Fair. The Bogalusa Blues Festival, Mardi Gras parades and Fourth of July celebrations are just a few of the other activities that make Washington Parish such a great place to work, live and raise a family.
